Game Colony View

Not for nothing but I played a game at Game Colony and was booted 6 times within that ONE game..my opinion is that the graphics STINK, the play is VERY slow and the chat is HORRIBLE too, you can't chat very long if you don't have tix..so for now I will play at Flipside and hope someday they will fix world play..til then, happy ginning wherever it is you choose to play.

  I find that the main problem with GameColony is that it is a pure Java code site. The matches all run as applets. When I played there regularly after the site started the major problem with their games is that they would eat and leak memory on your puter. What was done to correct this was to exit the game room after every few games and then go back in. It didn't prevent all the boots but it prevented some.
  But even with recent play, there will still be times when suddenly the game area gets no response out of a mouse click. Again, I think it is because of the Java base of their code. I think that the play is a bit slow for my tastes, but they have one feature that I've always liked, and that is how the cards are ordered on the table. On the downside, the site appears to be geared for being "for profit", certain parts can only be used if you have paid for them. We're already paying for one site (WP on AOL), it's up to everyone else if they want to pay for other services.
  Here's hoping that AOL and EA will at least return the servers to a point where connections stay persistant again.

  Has anyone checked out GamesGrid Gin, it could be the happy medium we, the group are looking for if they have a room for us. It seems that would be more like Worldplay than Game Colony. I am just curious because next to Flipside (and we know there are no rooms there for us), Gamesgrid would be my next choice. Did we rule that site out?

  I can relate to the problems that Bunny is having. Whenever I type in GameColony, I get a pop up screen that tells me I can't talk to everyone if I don't buy some tickets. I spent an entire evening with no one seeing anything I said and was very frustrated. I also froze up when I was in there at one point and had to do a total reboot. I will try, but I am getting almost as frustrated with that pop up as I am with the worldplay boots. I prefer the worldplay boots. Hopefully JinLuvsU's email has correct information and Worldplay is being upgraded.

    Adjusting is always difficult. I hated the site too at first-- I now like it alot!!! NOTHING is like Worldplay. I hope they fix it. Katt

  Its really just a matter of getting used to it--If you do something you arent supposed to ---the table freezes just as in any other site. I have booted out of Flipside multiple times as I have in EVERY site that I have played. Nothing compares to Worldplay I agree. Where you choose to play is your perrogative.     NAHHHHH, nothing to get to use to there, the site is just plain out n out HORRIBLE!
    I've been playing at flip for about a month now and have NEVER booted or froze, so if its boots I want, I'll play at world play.

      Sorry bunny that you don't like gc. I am still getting used to it also. It is not wp, but neither is flip. Won't go into my feelings about flip. Everyone has a right to play where they wish. Just know you are welcome to come and give us a try when ever you want to be around friendly people....Fix WP and the bear will come back..Smoochess All!!

        No flip is not wp but it WORKS and thats what I don't understand, you leave 1 broken site to go to another, I played at gc about 2 1/2 yrs ago b4 coming to wp, the site still has the same problems if not more now than it had back then with all the boots and freezing day in and day out for months, thats why I left and yes I did give it another chance a few days ago just to find out that nothing has changed, its still broke... but to each his (or her) own, maybe someday we'll all be back at wp, til then all I can say is GOOD LUCK.
