    To the Hoyle Community,

Cases Ladder is pleased to let everyone know that we’ve come up with a way to keep the site up and running.

For the month of March, everything will continue as-is.

Starting April 1st, in order to cover the costs of upcoming hardware migration, our bandwidth and overhead, we will need to collect a small yearly membership fee. With the economy where it is, we worked very hard to keep the yearly ante (membership fee) as little as possible.

If enough community members sign-up, we can make this work for less than $1.70 a month. Because of the way credit card companies bill us, we do need to collect the full year $20 membership at sign-up.

Please know that we’ve listened carefully to your feedback and think this amount meets your suggestions. We also heard that you want to give the gift of a membership to a friend. So, when you sign up to your membership, you can sponsor a friend for a year at only $10.

We will provide further updates over the next few weeks as we approach the start of the membership drive.

Thank you for your patience and continued loyalty.

    The Team at Cases Ladder

So not only do you have to pay for Case membership but you have to pay to play at this site? If you're not a case member, you won't be able to play here, correct?

              Cat,

The membership fee to play at Hoyle has nothing to do with your Case Membership. You do NOT have to be a premium or Case member to play at Hoyle.

              Thank you,

will this be a flat rate per household/computer access or charged per case account?
i'm just worried (esp with the economy as it is) that there are some people with aliases and multiples that would have to pay more than the stated amount. in this case, would you provide them with a discount or perhaps host a pancake breakfast fundraiser to help them offset the costs?

        Hi,

It's $20 per account and if you want to sponsor a second name it will be a $10 fee for the second name. The $10.00 rate will only be available at the time the membership fee of $20.00 is being paid.

        Thank you,

      Katt, I have a question....

Why is the $20 yearly fee being paid to Case if the money is to keep the Hoyle site up and running? It sounds as if they are one and the same, and if that's the case, the whole situation has been misleading to the players.

If Case and Hoyle are not affiliated and the money is to keep the site up and running (the site being Hoyle/Sierra game rooms?), why would we not be paying the $20 yearly fee to Hoyle?

Thanks for clearing this up for me.
